Senior Security Engineer, MDR Automation & Platform

About the role

Varonis is looking for a Senior Security Engineer to lead the automation and orchestration platform for its Managed Detection and Response (MDR) service. The role bridges engineering and security operations, shaping the technical direction of a high‑volume, global detection platform.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the architecture, scalability, reliability and cost strategy for the MDR automation and orchestration platform, including SOAR, case management and workflow tooling.
• Act as the technical lead for the MDR Security Engineering team, reviewing designs and code, setting standards and guiding architectural decisions.
• Design, develop and maintain complex integrations, services, APIs and workflow components that support triage, enrichment, investigation and response.
• Translate operational and security requirements into clear technical designs and delivery plans in collaboration with analysts, researchers and engineers.
• Ensure platform components meet strong engineering standards and are scalable and reliable for a global operation.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading the technical direction of an automation or orchestration platform in a security‑focused environment.
• Deep understanding of security operations, threat detection workflows and the challenges of scaling MDR services.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to turn complex operational requirements into practical, scalable solutions.
