Senior Cybersecurity Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer reporting to the CISO, you will lead security initiatives that protect Similarweb’s digital intelligence platform. You’ll work with cross‑functional teams to embed security into products, services and cloud infrastructure, ensuring the business can innovate safely.

Key responsibilities

• Implement, manage and continuously improve security controls across AWS, GCP and Azure cloud environments, endpoints, SaaS platforms and applications.
• Administer and optimize security technologies such as EDR/XDR, SIEM, CDR, CNAPP, DLP, IAM, SASE, MFA and network security solutions.
• Lead the security strategy for Generative AI and LLM‑based services, defining risk assessments, controls and guardrails.
• Design and automate security processes, workflows and controls to increase operational efficiency and visibility.
• Partner with IT, DevOps, Engineering and Product teams to apply security‑by‑design principles throughout system architecture, software development and AI lifecycles.
• Drive vulnerability management, from identification and prioritisation to remediation tracking and reporting.
• Maintain secure configuration baselines and hardening standards aligned with CIS Benchmarks, NIST CSF and ISO/IEC 27000 series.
• Participate in security operations, including threat detection, incident response and continuous monitoring.
• Lead GRC activities, supporting SOC 2, SOX, ISO 27001 and other compliance audits.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in cybersecurity engineering or a related field.
• Proven ability to work in fast‑growing, technology‑driven environments.
• Strong collaboration skills with cross‑functional teams.
