Senior Board Design Engineer

About the role

Elbit Systems is seeking a Senior Board Design Engineer to lead the full lifecycle of printed circuit board (PCB) development for its cutting‑edge mission computers, displays, helmets and related products. The role involves close collaboration with software, FPGA and mechanical teams to deliver high‑performance hardware solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end PCB development process, from requirements definition through testing and validation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (software, FPGA, mechanics) to integrate hardware designs.
• Define top‑level architecture and detailed stack‑up for high‑speed boards.
• Perform signal‑integrity analysis, retiming, and redrive implementation.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to colleagues across disciplines.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in digital electronic design.
• Strong problem‑solving and leadership abilities.
• Ability to guide software, FPGA and mechanical teams.
• Experience with processor‑based hardware platforms (ARM/X86) is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Python or other programming languages is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with PCB design tools such as Altium Designer, Mentor Expedition, Cadence.
• Expertise in PCB layout and high‑speed signal‑integrity design.
• Design of Voltage Regulated Modules (VRM) and analog circuits (amplifiers, filters).
• Stack‑up definition, retimes, redrives, and high‑speed layout techniques.
• Use of signal‑integrity analysis tools (Hyperlynx, Ansys).
• Requirements definition and top‑level architecture definition.
• Processor‑based hardware platform knowledge (ARM, X86).
• Python programming (advantageous).
