Senior Android Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Android Engineer to own and evolve a fast‑growing consumer mobile product used by students worldwide. Based in Israel, you will lead end‑to‑end Android development, shaping architecture, performance, releases and long‑term technical direction while collaborating closely with product, growth and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Own the Android application from architecture to roadmap execution and releases.
• Define and communicate the technical vision for mobile development, maintaining high engineering standards.
• Mentor and support existing mobile engineers, raising the overall quality of Android code.
• Partner with engineering and product leadership to prioritize mobile initiatives.
• Collaborate with product and growth teams to deliver features that improve acquisition, onboarding, engagement and retention.
• Deliver a polished, native‑feeling Android experience with smooth animations and platform‑appropriate design patterns.
• Develop and ship features rapidly in a product‑led growth and A/B testing environment.
• Instrument features, analyze results and use data‑driven experimentation to continuously improve the product.
• Manage the Android app release process, including versioning, Google Play deployment, app‑store optimization, crash monitoring and performance tracking.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues while proactively improving stability and performance.
• Help define the future structure and capabilities of the mobile engineering function as the team scales.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in native Android development.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and a proven track record of shipping high‑quality consumer Android applications.
• Hands‑on experience with both Jetpack Compose and traditional Android Views.
• Deep knowledge of Android frameworks, architecture patterns and state‑management approaches.
• Experience with Firebase, push notifications, Google Play Console and Play Store deployment.
• Proficiency with Android Studio, automated testing frameworks, debugging and performance monitoring tools.
