Project Manager – OPAL Aviation Systems

About the role

Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead the end‑to‑end development and integration of OPAL, an advanced aviation system that combines communications, avionics, software and operational capabilities. You will act as the primary interface between IAI and its customers, ensuring successful delivery from concept through flight testing and operational hand‑over.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own project scope, schedule, budget, milestones and overall performance.
• Coordinate daily customer interactions, status reviews, change management and expectation alignment.
• Support commercial activities, including proposal preparation, tender responses, pricing and negotiations.
• Prepare marketing materials, presentations and demonstrations for existing and prospective customers.
• Lead cross‑functional matrix teams across systems engineering, software, hardware, avionics, operations, finance, procurement and quality.
• Identify, assess and mitigate project risks, bottlenecks and critical issues.

Required profile

• Academic degree in Electrical, Computer or Systems Engineering, or equivalent operational background.
• Minimum 3 years of experience managing complex defense‑industry projects or programs.
• Proven negotiation skills and experience with commercial and technical discussions.
• Excellent presentation and communication abilities, including senior‑level briefings.
• Familiarity with defense procurement, contract management and government or military customers.
• High level of English (reading, writing, speaking) and willingness to travel abroad.
