POS T&C Technician

About the role

The Power Supply Test & Commissioning (T&C) Technician is responsible for executing all testing and commissioning activities related to power supply systems on Alstom project sites. The role ensures that equipment and systems are installed, tested, and commissioned according to engineering specifications, safety standards, and project requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform on‑site testing and commissioning of MV/LV equipment, traction systems, transformers, protection systems, and control & automation devices.
• Carry out functional, insulation/megger, continuity, torque verification, and panel energisation tests.
• Develop, configure, and manage test procedures, facilities and tools throughout the project lifecycle.
• Define and monitor Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with reference times, continuously optimizing them.
• Implement Return of Experience (REX) from the T&C phase and ensure proper documentation, version control, and delivery of test reports, NCRs and as‑built records.
• Collaborate with engineering, site industrial, warranty, logistics, quality, and validation teams to ensure seamless interfaces.
• Support installation teams on electrical design issues, system interfaces and test readiness.
• Participate in troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis and corrective actions while complying with EHS and electrical work regulations.

Required profile

• Practical Engineer or Technician degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Relevant experience in power‑supply testing, commissioning and electrical installations.
• Strong understanding of customer acceptance criteria, FAT/SAT procedures and QCD criteria.
• Ability to work safely on site, attend safety briefings and conduct risk assessments.
