Motion Control Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a highly talented Motion Control Engineer with strong experience in servo‑system design, testing and integration to join our unique Motion team at Applied Materials.

Key responsibilities

• End‑to‑end ownership of the development process, including architecture design, specifications, feasibility tests, vendor selection, modeling, motion profiling, control design, lab testing, system integration and transition to serial production.
• Define and manage the development plan, timeline and budget while coordinating with electrical, mechanical, software, operations, manufacturing and support groups.
• Lead periodic and ad‑hoc technical review meetings.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with a focus on control; at least 5 years of experience in servo‑system design, test and integration.
• Strong theoretical knowledge of control systems (linear, non‑linear, friction, robust) and experience with motion‑control simulation.
• Familiarity with motion components such as motors, bearings, sensors and controllers; excellent English communication skills.
