Mechanical Design Engineer (R&D)

About the role

Ceragon Networks is looking for a creative and curious Mechanical Design Engineer to join its R&D product development team. You will drive the mechanical development of next‑generation wireless equipment from concept through to mass production, collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design of new telecom products from initial concept to full‑scale manufacturing.
• Perform analysis, testing, design iterations and validation of prototypes.
• Interface with cross‑functional teams, including electronics, RF, and manufacturing partners.
• Manage engineering changes, PLM data, and BOM structuring throughout the product lifecycle.

Required profile

• BSc in Mechanical Engineering (MSc is a plus).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electronics packaging design.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, assembly tolerances and design for manufacturing.
• Proven ability to lead full life‑cycle projects and mentor junior engineers.
• Self‑motivated, able to work under pressure, multitask and communicate effectively in English.

Required skills

• SolidWorks proficiency.
• Design for Manufacturing (plastic injection molding, metal casting, machining, stamping, forming).
• Electronics board design experience.
• PLM system usage and BOM structuring.
• Thermal, dynamical and statical analysis.
• Design of indoor and outdoor equipment, preferably telecom/RF equipment.
