Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

Join SolarEdge’s Mechanical Engineering team to develop next‑generation solar and energy storage products. As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will create robust mechanical solutions for high‑power outdoor electronics, ensuring performance, reliability and manufacturability.

Key responsibilities

• Design mechanical components and enclosures for electronic packaging, focusing on thermal management, environmental protection and manufacturability.
• Develop parts for plastic injection molding, die casting, extrusion and sheet‑metal fabrication.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers to integrate PCBs within product housings.
• Produce and maintain production documentation such as mechanical drawings, assembly instructions and PCB layouts.
• Review First Article Inspection reports, analyse results and approve parts for mass production.
• Perform engineering calculations (stress, heat‑transfer, magnetic and dynamic analyses) to validate designs.
• Participate in design reviews, troubleshoot issues and drive continuous improvement.
• Work with cross‑functional teams—including product management, manufacturing and testing—to bring products to market.

Required profile

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical design and development.
• Proven ability to design for manufacturability and work with mass‑production processes.

Required skills

• Mechanical design and CAD modeling.

• Thermal management and heat‑transfer analysis.
