Java Software Engineer – Cloud & On-Premise Solutions

About the role

BGProtect, an Israeli cybersecurity company, is looking for a Java Software Engineer to design and deliver cloud‑based and on‑premise solutions for national‑level security projects. The role blends backend development with end‑to‑end delivery, including integration, deployment, configuration, and production support in customer environments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop Java services for large‑scale network data collection, processing, and analysis.
• Build and maintain containerised applications using Docker/Kubernetes.
• Integrate, install, and troubleshoot solutions in on‑premise customer sites.
• Work with databases such as MongoDB, MySQL and PostgreSQL to support data‑intensive operations.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure smooth deployment and ongoing support.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2 years focused on backend development.
• Ability to independently understand requirements, write production‑grade code, and troubleshoot deployed solutions.
• Eligibility to obtain a high‑level government security clearance.
