DDR Validation Engineer

About the role

Google is seeking a DDR Validation Engineer to join its custom silicon team, developing next‑generation hardware for consumer products. The role focuses on post‑silicon validation of DDR PHY and memory controller designs.

Key responsibilities

• Define, develop, and execute post‑silicon validation test plans on emulation setups and physical silicon platforms.
• Lead silicon bring‑up, troubleshoot complex hardware/software issues, and identify root causes.
• Collaborate with architects, design engineers, firmware/software developers, and production teams to drive bug fixes and ensure feature functionality.
• Provide comprehensive functional coverage for Google’s custom designs, guiding chips from prototype to global product deployment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 4 years of embedded software development experience (C/C++ or Python).
• Experience with DDR PHY or Memory Controller post‑silicon validation activities.
• Preferred: Master’s or PhD with emphasis on computer architecture and experience in functional silicon validation, bring‑up, and qualification.
