Data Engineering Team Leader – Backend & Data Platform

About the role

We are looking for a Data Engineering Team Leader to drive the design, architecture, and delivery of next‑generation data platforms that power our secure connectivity solutions. In this hybrid role based in Tel Aviv, you will lead a high‑perform engineering team, champion the use of Generative AI across the software development lifecycle, and ensure our data pipelines scale reliably.

Key responsibilities

• Inspire, mentor, and manage a top‑tier data engineering team delivering mission‑critical solutions.
• Architect and optimise data ingestion, enrichment, and storage for massive scale and reliability on AWS.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional partners to guarantee seamless integration and data availability.
• Define best practices and enforce engineering excellence across the data domain.
• Champion GenAI adoption, providing a clear point of view on where it adds genuine value.
• Foster a culture of innovation, encouraging experimentation with new technologies.
• Continuously raise the bar on quality, velocity, and engineering rigor.

Required profile

• 7+ years of hands‑on data engineering experience, including streaming technologies.
• 2+ years of leadership experience in data engineering or related fields.
• Strong communication skills, a proactive hands‑on attitude, and a natural leadership style.
• BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Streaming technologies: Kafka, MSK, Flink.
• Cloud platform: AWS.
• Programming language: Java.
• Data modelling, ETL processes, and real‑time analytics.
• Experience with Generative AI tools across the development lifecycle.
• Familiarity with React (advantage).
