Data Engineer

About the role

DRS RADA is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join its data engineering team. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines that support the AI department in a fast‑paced, production‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimise ETL/ELT pipelines for large‑scale data processing.
• Work with a modern data stack, including Databricks (Spark, SQL), Apache Airflow, and Azure services.
• Troubleshoot and optimise queries and jobs to improve performance.
• Implement best practices for data governance, security, and monitoring.
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging data‑engineering technologies.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in data engineering or a related field.
• Proficiency in Python for data processing and automation.
• Deep understanding of Apache Spark and Databricks.
• Experience with Git version control.
• Expertise in Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration.
• Familiarity with Azure cloud services.
• Advanced SQL skills and query optimisation experience.
• Knowledge of data modelling, ETL/ELT principles, CI/CD pipelines and Docker containerisation.
• Enthusiastic, fast‑learning, team‑oriented and motivated.
