Data Engineer II - GenAI

About the role

Join Booking.com’s Content Intelligence team within the Marketplace AI department as a Data Engineer II focused on Generative AI. You will work with engineers and data scientists to build and optimise data pipelines that feed high‑quality data into GenAI foundation models and downstream applications.

Key responsibilities

• Rapidly develop scalable, flexible, high‑performance data pipelines.
• Process massive textual sources to train GenAI foundation models.
• Identify and resolve data and pipeline issues, prioritising customer impact.
• Own end‑to‑end data quality for core datasets and pipelines.
• Experiment with new tools and technologies to meet performance, scaling, and quality requirements.
• Provide tools that improve data quality company‑wide, especially for ML scientists.
• Create self‑organising tools for the analytics community to discover, assess, and explore data.
• Act as an intermediary for technical and non‑technical audiences, promoting innovative engineering solutions.
