Technical Publication Engineer – Semiconductor Tools

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Technical Publication Engineer to create clear technical procedures and manuals for its service teams. You will work in a clean‑room environment, collaborating with technical writers and product experts to produce accurate documentation for semiconductor tools.

Key responsibilities

• Independently manage technical knowledge projects, ensuring timely completion and defined objectives.
• Validate technical accuracy, quality and reliability of procedures and become a subject‑matter expert on assigned PDC tools.
• Review and approve documents with GPS managers to meet standards.
• Produce technical publications using Agile or Waterfall methodologies, handling layout, illustration, authoring and editing.
• Collaborate with team members to drive innovative approaches and improve productivity.

Required profile

• Graduate degree in Engineering or a related scientific field.
• 1–2 years experience creating technical procedures, preferably in the semiconductor industry.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast‑paced, high‑tech environment.
• Willingness to work in a clean‑room and travel up to 25% of the time.

Required skills

• Adobe FrameMaker and Acrobat Pro DC.
• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
• DITA XML tools such as Oxygen and SDL.
• Graphic tools: SnagIt, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator.
• Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
