System Product Q&R Engineer

About the role

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a System Product Quality & Reliability (Q&R) Engineer to support the development and management of compute, database, storage, IoT, platform and productivity services. The role focuses on ensuring product quality and reliability throughout the design and manufacturing lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop DFQR (Design for Quality & Reliability) and DFT (Design for Test) methodologies and best‑known methods (BKMs).
• Execute DFQR and DFT activities during product design stages.
• Perform product quality & reliability validation (QRV) and ongoing quality & reliability monitoring (OQRM).
• Engineer volume manufacturing processes, including yield monitoring, statistical process control (SPC), design of experiments (DOE), risk assessment, and disposition of non‑conformance events.
• Lead failure analysis, root‑cause investigations, and corrective‑action plans (CAP) for returned material (RMAs).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Strong knowledge of computer networks and data processing.

Required skills

• DFQR and DFT methodology implementation.
• Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE).
• Risk assessment and non‑conformance disposition.
• Failure analysis, root‑cause analysis, and corrective‑action planning (CAP).
• Experience with AWS services and cloud‑based product environments.
