Software Engineer III, Platform Engineering and Infrastructure

About the role

Google is seeking a Software Engineer III to join the Platform Engineering and Infrastructure team that powers Chronicle Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR). The role focuses on building the platforms, tools, and developer infrastructure that enable large‑scale, secure operations on Google Cloud Platform and Kubernetes.

Key responsibilities

• Write production‑grade code for products and systems that run at Google scale.
• Participate in and lead design reviews, evaluating technology choices with peers and stakeholders.
• Review and provide feedback on code to ensure adherence to style, testability, efficiency, and best practices.
• Contribute to documentation and educational content for internal and external developers.
• Own the Security Operation provisioning service, orchestrating resources across GCP, GKE, and compute infrastructure.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of experience developing large‑scale infrastructure, distributed systems, networks, or working with compute, storage, or hardware architecture.
• 2 years of software development experience, or 1 year with an advanced degree.
• Preferred: Master’s or PhD in Computer Science or related field, plus experience with data structures, algorithms, and accessible technologies.
