SoC Power Architect – Custom Silicon

About the role

Join Google’s AI and Infrastructure team to lead the power architecture of next‑generation custom silicon that powers cloud services and consumer products. You will shape energy‑efficient designs that enable massive AI workloads while meeting strict thermal and performance targets.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the power architecture for new SoC designs, balancing performance, thermal limits, and power delivery.
• Collaborate with architecture, logic, physical implementation, and system‑software teams to make trade‑offs across the stack.
• Develop and apply power‑ and performance‑modeling tools to evaluate architectural options.
• Integrate on‑chip power‑management IP, including multi‑voltage islands, power gating, and clock gating.
• Lead post‑silicon bring‑up, power calibration, thermal management, and debugging activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• At least 10 years of ASIC/SoC architecture or design experience with a focus on power optimization.
• Hands‑on experience with low‑power design techniques such as UPF/CPF, multi‑voltage islands, power gating, and clock gating.
• Proven ability to use power‑modeling and performance‑analysis tools to drive architectural decisions.
• Preferred: Master’s or PhD, full‑chip power‑integrity expertise, post‑silicon bring‑up experience, and familiarity with data‑center/server SoC power requirements.
