Senior Vulnerability Researcher

About the role

Oak is building an AI‑native Identity Operating System and needs a senior researcher to dissect modern technologies, understand how they truly work, and uncover hidden weaknesses. As a Senior Vulnerability Researcher you will lead deep technical investigations, develop first‑principles models, and discover novel vulnerabilities before attackers can exploit them.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct reverse‑engineering and security analysis of protocols, platforms, and AI‑driven identity services.
• Identify gaps between intended and actual system behavior, formulate original research hypotheses, and validate them through hands‑on testing.
• Produce detailed technical reports, responsible disclosures, and thought‑leadership content that advance the security community.
• Collaborate with Oak’s product engineers to integrate findings into the Identity Operating System’s threat model.
• Mentor junior researchers and help shape the team’s research roadmap.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in vulnerability or security research.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to build first‑principles understanding of complex systems.
• Track record of publishing original security research or responsible disclosures.
• Excellent written communication for technical reports and community engagement.
• Ability to work independently and drive research directions.
