Senior Software Engineer – Integrations – AI/ML

About the role

As a Senior Software Engineer focusing on AI & ML integrations, you will own and evolve critical parts of ClickHouse’s AI ecosystem. You will bridge high‑performance database engineering with developer experience, building tools that enable engineers and data scientists to leverage ClickHouse in their existing AI workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Own and evolve ClickHouse’s Python connector and SDK ecosystem, improving performance, reliability and API design.
• Drive the AI/LLM integration strategy, designing connectors for RAG architectures, ML feature pipelines and LLM‑powered data applications.
• Engage with the open‑source community: triage issues, support contributors and shape the roadmap based on real‑world feedback.
• Collaborate with Product, Cloud and other engineering teams to align integration work with broader platform priorities.

Required profile

• 7+ years of software development experience, including hands‑on work as a Data Scientist or ML Engineer.
• Proven experience designing, building and maintaining production‑grade Python connectors or SDKs for major platforms.
• Hands‑on experience applying AI/ML in production data‑engineering contexts such as embedding generation, vector search or LLM‑powered tooling.
• Strong database fundamentals: SQL, data modeling, query optimization and familiarity with OLAP/analytical databases.

Required skills

• Python (including concurrent patterns: threading, multiprocessing, async)
• Pandas, NumPy, Pydantic
• SQL and OLAP database concepts
• Experience with AI/ML tooling such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, n8n
