Senior Product Technologist

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Senior Product Technologist to lead scientific and experimental work for its material metrology platforms. You will design and execute hands‑on experiments in labs and at customer sites, turning data into technology direction and system requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and run experiments on metrology tools, both internally and at customer locations.
• Analyze experimental data rigorously and translate results into technology road‑maps and system specifications.
• Collaborate with Physics, Systems, Algorithms, and Software teams to achieve metrology‑grade performance.

Required profile

• PhD or MSc in Physics, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering or related field with strong academic research background.
• 10+ years of R&D experience in multidisciplinary projects, in academia and/or industry.
• Solid understanding of semiconductor materials, processes, and device technology.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience developing X‑ray techniques, microscopy, spectroscopy, optical systems, or SEM.
• Designing experiments, building or adapting setups, and data collection/analysis.
