Senior Linux, Storage and Backup Administrator

About the role

Tower Semiconductor is seeking a senior administrator to own and support the enterprise Linux, storage and backup environments at its Israeli site. The position involves managing physical and virtual servers, SAN infrastructure, and backup solutions in a fast‑paced, high‑tech environment.

Key responsibilities

• Administer physical and virtual Linux servers (RHEL or compatible) throughout their lifecycle, including installation, configuration, patching, upgrades and decommissioning.
• Configure and troubleshoot system services, filesystems, LVM, networking, DNS, NTP, SSH and package repositories.
• Manage server hardware such as RAID controllers, HBAs, firmware and out‑of‑band management.
• Implement security hardening, vulnerability remediation and access controls.
• Own enterprise SAN storage and Fibre Channel infrastructure, handling provisioning, zoning, multipathing and capacity monitoring.
• Maintain file services (CIFS/SMB, Samba, NFS, FTP/SFTP) with Active Directory integration and secure access.
• Manage backup and recovery using Dell NetWorker and PowerProtect Data Domain, including replication and recovery testing.
• Automate operations through Puppet/Foreman provisioning and scripting (Bash, Perl, Python) while keeping documentation and disaster‑recovery plans up to date.

Required profile

• 7–10 years of infrastructure administration experience, including senior/escalation responsibilities.
• Strong production experience with physical and virtual Linux servers in enterprise AD environments.
• Extensive knowledge of enterprise SAN storage and Fibre Channel switching (Brocade/Broadcom).
• Hands‑on experience with Dell NetWorker and PowerProtect Data Domain backup solutions.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
