Senior iOS Software Engineer – Location Technologies

About the role

Apple’s Location Technologies group builds the core location services that power billions of daily experiences. As a Senior iOS Software Engineer you will design and implement the systems that combine hardware sensors, firmware, and software to deliver fast, accurate, and privacy‑preserving location data.

Key responsibilities

• Define the architecture of multi‑component location systems spanning hardware, firmware, and software.
• Implement and maintain production‑quality code that integrates inertial, visual, UWB, Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi, and GNSS sensors.
• Bring up new hardware prototypes and troubleshoot issues that appear only on real devices.
• Collaborate with silicon, hardware, firmware, algorithm, and platform teams to turn raw signals into reliable location experiences.
• Ensure privacy and security considerations are embedded in system design and code.

Required profile

• Extensive experience designing and building complex, multi‑sensor systems.
• Strong understanding of hardware‑software interaction and system‑level trade‑offs.
• Proven ability to write production code and debug hardware‑related failures.
• Commitment to privacy, security, and high‑quality engineering practices.
