Security Information Analyst

About the role

The United Nations Department of Safety and Security is looking for a Security Information Analyst to join its Israel and Occupied Palestinian Territory office in East Jerusalem. Reporting to the Principal Security Adviser or the Chief of the Security Information Operations Centre, the analyst will support UN security risk management in a challenging environment.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, collate, analyse and disseminate security‑relevant information to support decision‑making by the UN Designated Official and Security Management Team.
• Maintain up‑to‑date awareness of events that could affect UN safety by monitoring incidents, daily reports, local media and open sources.
• Advise senior security officers on emerging threats affecting United Nations operations.
• Supervise the Security Information and Operations Centre when assigned, ensuring effective information flow and network cultivation.

Required profile

• Relevant academic background or professional experience in security information management.
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in a hardship location.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
• Excellent knowledge of the security environment in the region.
