Quality Director

About the role

We are seeking a visionary engineering leader to shape and drive our quality engineering discipline into the AI era. The Quality Director will own automation infrastructure, performance engineering, and AI‑driven quality initiatives, building high‑performing teams that set the standard for modern software validation at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Define and lead AI‑augmented quality strategy, including LLM‑powered test generation and model validation frameworks.
• Own the end‑to‑end automation strategy across UI, API and integration layers, embedding shift‑left testing in CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Lead enterprise‑scale performance and load testing, set SLOs/SLAs and partner with SRE on reliability thresholds.
• Build and grow teams of automation engineers, performance engineers and architects, establishing technical direction, OKRs and career ladders.
• Evaluate and integrate emerging AI quality toolchains and responsible AI testing governance.

Required profile

• 12+ years of software engineering or QA experience with 5+ years in senior leadership (Director or Staff‑level) and direct reports.
• Deep hands‑on expertise in test automation architecture, having built frameworks from scratch for large‑scale systems.
• Proven track record delivering performance engineering for distributed, cloud‑native applications handling 10,000+ concurrent users.
• Experience shipping or operating AI/ML systems and addressing their unique quality challenges.

Required skills

• Python, TypeScript, Java programming.
• CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
• Test automation frameworks and LLM‑powered test generation tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude).
• Performance testing tools: k6, JMeter, Gatling.
• Observability and APM platforms: Datadog, Grafana, Dynatrace, New Relic.
