Procurement/Sourcing Specialist II

About the role

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Procurement/Sourcing Specialist II to join its collaborative procurement team. You will help secure critical materials and services, enabling the company’s mission to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer.

Key responsibilities

• Manage supplier portfolios and execute sourcing strategies for manufacturing and regulated‑industry environments.
• Negotiate contracts, drive cost‑saving initiatives, and monitor supplier performance metrics.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, quality and planning teams to ensure on‑time delivery of materials.
• Analyze market intelligence, assess risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Support continuous‑improvement projects using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (no experience required) OR Bachelor’s degree with 1‑2 years of procurement/sourcing experience.
• Advanced supply‑chain certifications such as APICS, CPIM or CSCP (preferred).
• Strong analytical, negotiation and project‑management abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English; additional languages a plus.
• Willingness to travel domestically/internationally up to 25%.
