Principal Accountant – Controllership (Israel)

About the role

MiniMed is seeking a highly analytical and detail‑oriented Principal Accountant to join its Controllership team in Israel. The role is critical for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial statements, with a strong focus on inventory accounting, R&D transfer pricing, and US GAAP compliance in a newly independent publicly listed company.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and analyze financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and local GAAP.
• Execute monthly, quarterly and annual close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations and flux analysis.
• Oversee inventory accounting processes such as standard costing, variances, reserves and valuation, and perform inventory reconciliations.
• Support intercompany R&D transactions, ensuring proper recording and alignment with transfer‑pricing policies.
• Contribute to SAP S/4HANA migration, data migration, testing and design of accounting processes.
• Identify automation opportunities and improve accounting controls in a post‑spin‑off environment.
• Collaborate with Tax, Treasury, FP&A, Supply Chain, R&D Finance and Legal, and serve as a point of contact for external auditors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a multinational or complex corporate environment.
• Fluent in Hebrew and English, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Strong expertise in US GAAP.
• Inventory accounting (standard costing, variances, reserves, valuation).
• Transfer‑pricing documentation for intercompany R&D activities.
• Proficiency with SAP ERP (ECC and/or S/4HANA).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, complex formulas, financial modeling).
• Knowledge of SOX compliance and internal controls.
