Planner / Buyer

About the role

Rapid Medical is seeking an experienced Planner / Buyer to own the end‑to‑end material planning and purchasing process for its medical device manufacturing operations. You will ensure production lines have the right materials at the right time while maintaining balanced inventory levels.

Key responsibilities

• Translate demand forecasts and production plans into procurement and material supply plans, considering inventory, lead times, reorder points and safety stock.
• Set up, maintain and operate the MRP process in Priority ERP.
• Issue purchase orders, track deliveries and guarantee on‑time supply.
• Monitor inventory and incoming shipments, proactively identifying shortages, delays and supply risks.
• Develop and manage a broad supplier base, negotiate competitive pricing, and ensure quality and delivery performance.
• Collaborate with R&D during NPI and design transfer to define purchasing needs for new products.
• Work with Finance on invoice approvals, PO matching and supplier payment issues.
• Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Quality and Warehouse teams.
• Ensure all purchasing activities comply with medical‑device regulatory and quality requirements.
• Leverage AI tools for advanced analysis, automation and continuous improvement of planning and purchasing processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Logistics or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in planning and purchasing, preferably in medical‑device manufacturing.
• Proven hands‑on experience with Priority ERP, including MRP setup and maintenance.
• Demonstrated ability to translate demand forecasts into material and procurement plans.
• Strong negotiation and supplier‑management capabilities.
• Working knowledge of international import/export logistics, air and sea freight, express shipments and Incoterms.
• High level of written and spoken English.
