Physical Design CAD Engineer

About the role

Marvell is hiring a Physical Design CAD engineer to work on the physical design and methodology of future designs of its next-generation, high-performance processor chips in a leading-edge CMOS process technology, aimed at server, 5G/6G, automotive and networking applications. The role works with local and global team members on complex chip physical design and on an efficient, robust design process.

Key responsibilities

• Work with design teams across disciplines such as Digital/RTL/Analog to ensure design convergence and integration in a timely manner.
• Implement and support multi-voltage designs through place and route, static timing and physical verification using industry-standard EDA tools.
• Integrate new AI-based design flows.
• Work with various teams to drive successful design closure.
• Provide technical direction, coaching and mentoring to junior employees and colleagues.
• Write scripts in Shell, Python and TCL to improve productivity through AI and automation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• 4+ years of progressive experience in back-end physical design and verification.
• Good understanding of RTL to GDS flows and methodology.
• Expertise in full-chip and sub-hierarchy integration.
• Experience integrating and taping out large designs in a digital design environment.
• Team player with good communication skills.
• Experience with multi-voltage and low-power design techniques is a plus.

Required skills

• Scripting in Perl, Tcl and Python.
• Preferred: experience with Cadence Genus and Innovus.
