Operation Technician – Control Room Operator

About the role

General Electric Company is seeking an experienced Operation Technician to work in the control room of a hydroelectric power plant near Kibbutz Neve Or, in the northern Beit Shan Valley. The role focuses on monitoring and controlling electricity production while ensuring safe and efficient plant operation.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor real‑time electricity generation and plant systems from the control room.
• Detect, diagnose, and respond to faults or abnormal conditions.
• Support preventive maintenance activities and execute routine field monitoring.
• Prepare and deliver shift reports to the control‑room manager.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams and other plant interfaces to resolve issues promptly.

Required profile

• Proven experience operating a control room in a power generation environment.
• Strong understanding of electrical production processes and plant instrumentation.
• Ability to work under pressure and make quick, accurate decisions.
• Effective communication skills for interaction with shift managers and maintenance personnel.

Required skills

• Experience with plant monitoring and control systems.
• Knowledge of fault handling and preventive maintenance procedures.
