Mechanical Systems Technician

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Systems Technician to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of rotating and mechanical equipment across our facility. The role involves performing preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance, supporting overhauls and shutdowns, and contributing to asset integrity programs.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance on rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, blowers, engines and gearboxes.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues using diagnostic tools, vibration analysis and equipment history.
• Support overhauls, breakdown repairs and planned shutdown activities, following OEM manuals and engineering drawings.
• Execute work in compliance with safety procedures, MOC, JRA and control‑of‑work processes.
• Maintain accurate records in the CMMS, including work orders, inspections and compliance checks.
• Assist with mechanical scopes of projects, upgrades and commissioning of new equipment.
• Identify recurring problems, recommend long‑term solutions and support continuous improvement of job plans.
• Coordinate spare‑part procurement, storage and vendor services.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 + years hands‑on experience maintaining rotating equipment in heavy‑vehicle, oil & gas, petrochemical or similar industrial environments.
• Proven ability to work with pumps, compressors, engines, hydraulics, mechanical seals and precision alignment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical drawings, P&ID diagrams, tolerances and precision maintenance techniques.
