Mechanical Engineer – Imaging Systems

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to lead the design of parts and assemblies for GE imaging systems (PET, SPECT). The role involves working on new product introductions as well as supporting installed systems in the field, creating safety files, and conducting verification and validation activities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop mechanical designs from specifications using 3D CREO CAD, including off‑the‑shelf components and custom parts.
• Present concepts and detailed designs in technical design reviews.
• Create safety documentation, perform strength calculations, FMEA and ensure compliance with medical and internal standards.
• Support product installation and service at hospital or customer sites.
• Define and execute verification and validation test procedures, write test reports.
• Assist in transfer of designs to production, define assembly and service instructions, and work with suppliers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of mechanical design experience, including at least two of the following: motion systems, welded or cast structures, mechanisms, electronic packaging, FRP covers, or electrical design support.
• Hands‑on experience with machining, sheet‑metal fabrication, prototype building and test execution.
• Strong teamwork, communication skills and fluency in English for technical presentations.
