Materials Handler I (Forklift Driver)

About the role

The Materials Handler I (Forklift Driver I) is responsible for storing, moving, and handling materials in a structured, safety‑focused environment. The role supports daily inbound and outbound operations, ensuring efficient flow of products through the warehouse.

Key responsibilities

• Stage product for use and maintain inventory controls.
• Operate forklifts to pick, replenish, shuttle, and load/unload orders.
• Feed production lines and contribute to shipping/receiving activities.
• Count, weigh, and record units or materials as required.
• Follow all safety procedures, wear protective gear, and ensure a safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; must be at least 18 years old.
• Previous material handling experience.
• Forklift certification within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ratios, percentages).
• Clear communication skills and ability to follow directions.

Required skills

• Forklift operation (Powered Industrial Truck certification).
• Inventory control and material tracking.
• Physical ability to lift and move items up to 90 lb and operate stand‑up forklifts with extended forks.
