Material Handler I (Forklift Driver)

About the role

The Materials Handler I (Forklift Driver I) is responsible for storing, moving and handling materials in a warehouse environment. The position works within a highly structured safety‑first setting and supports daily inbound and outbound operations.

Key responsibilities

• Stage products for use and maintain inventory controls.
• Operate powered industrial trucks (forklifts) to pick, replenish, shuttle, load and unload orders.
• Feed production lines and assist with shipping/receiving tasks.
• Count, weigh, record and track units or materials moved.
• Follow all safety procedures, wear required protective gear and ensure a safe work environment.
• Communicate directions clearly and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; minimum age 18.
• Previous material‑handling experience.
• Forklift certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to lift and support up to 90 lb and perform side‑shifts.
• Basic math skills for measuring, calculating rates, ratios and percentages.

Required skills

• Powered Industrial Truck (forklift) operation.
• Stand‑up forklift operation with extended forks.
• Basic arithmetic and data‑entry calculations.
