Mainframe Operator

About the role

Kyndryl is looking for an experienced Mainframe Operator to join its production team. You will be responsible for ensuring the availability and reliability of IBM Mainframe systems that support critical business applications.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and operate IBM Mainframe production environments, performing job scheduling, batch processing, console monitoring, and system health checks.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents promptly, escalating when necessary.
• Proactively monitor system performance and detect potential issues before they affect operations.
• Support business‑critical applications and ensure successful completion of production processing.
• Coordinate with infrastructure, application support, database, storage, and network teams during incident resolution.
• Execute operational procedures, disaster‑recovery activities, and scheduled maintenance tasks.
• Maintain operational documentation, logs, and runbooks.
• Ensure compliance with operational standards, security policies, and change‑management processes.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and provide support during planned maintenance and critical events.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of hands‑on experience with IBM Mainframe operations.
• Strong knowledge of the z/OS operating system and mainframe console operations.
• Experience monitoring production systems and handling critical incidents.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, in shifts, and provide 24/7 production support when required.
