Machine Learning Manager - Agentic Modeling

About the role

Booking.com is looking for a Machine Learning Manager to lead the Agentic Modeling team, which builds production‑grade AI agents for various product experiences. You will guide a group of ML scientists and engineers, shape the platform roadmap, and contribute hands‑on to code when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of ML scientists, data engineers, and ML engineers developing reusable agent types, strategies, and SDK capabilities.
• Define the technical vision and roadmap for the agentic modeling platform across multiple missions such as Trip Planning, Search, and Trip Support.
• Drive development of advanced agent planning, reasoning, memory, and multi‑agent collaboration patterns.
• Own integration with evaluation frameworks and production tooling to improve accuracy, latency, cost, and reliability.
• Improve developer experience by enhancing tooling and SDKs, ensuring fast iteration cycles for product teams.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of leadership experience managing ML teams in NLP, Generative AI, or Agentic AI.
• Deep knowledge of LLM‑based agent architectures, tool use, planning strategies, and memory systems.
• Master’s (6+ years experience) or PhD (4+ years experience) in a quantitative field such as Computer Science or AI.
• Proven track record of delivering large‑scale ML systems that generate measurable business value.
