About the role

Maximal Learning is a recently founded and well‑funded educational startup dedicated to transforming how students learn. As the Founding Learning Scientist you will leverage learning‑science principles to shape and enhance our AI‑driven platform, working closely with top academic and industry experts to drive meaningful change in education.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the integration of learning‑science principles into the design and development of our learning platform, ensuring the highest standards of educational effectiveness.
• Collaborate closely with a panel of academic and industry experts to incorporate cutting‑edge research findings into the learning experience.
• Establish strong partnerships with leading researchers and educational institutions to stay at the forefront of learning‑science advancements.
• Drive data‑driven decision‑making by overseeing the acquisition and analysis of relevant data to train our AI algorithms and continuously improve the platform.
• Develop and implement robust evaluation methodologies to objectively measure the efficacy of our software and its impact on student outcomes.
• Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to the learning and development team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and professional growth.
• Stay abreast of the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in learning science, leveraging this knowledge to drive innovation and improve our product.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in Learning Sciences, Educational Psychology, or a related field with a strong understanding of learning theories.
• Proven experience applying learning‑science principles to the design and development of educational products or software.
• Track record of collaborating with academic experts, researchers, and industry professionals to incorporate their insights into product development.
• Proficiency in leveraging data and analytics to drive decision‑making and measure the effectiveness of learning interventions.
• Strong project‑management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage cross‑functional teams effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, able to distill complex concepts into actionable insights and build consensus among stakeholders.
• Passion for education, learning science, and making a positive impact on student outcomes.
• Previous experience in an educational‑technology or startup environment is highly desirable.
