Electrical Power R&D Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a highly talented Electrical Power R&D Engineer to join its Power team within the Electronics Infrastructure Group. You will design, develop and test complex power modules and control solutions that enable advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design of AC and DC power modules for electronic equipment.
• Manage projects with external electronics and power development partners.
• Select, integrate and test power supply and electricity modules from vendors.
• Develop electric power distribution, switching and protection systems up to 20 kW.
• Design control and electric drive solutions for industrial modules and sensors.
• Create low‑voltage AC‑DC power supply systems and conduct hands‑on lab testing.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of electrical design experience.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• Power module design (AC & DC).
• Electric power distribution, switching and protection.
• Control systems and electric drive development.
• Low‑voltage AC‑DC power supply design.
• Laboratory testing and validation of power hardware.
• Knowledge of safety certifications (SEMI, UL, CE) and industrial wiring standards.
