Director of Software Engineering – SONiC

About the role

NVIDIA is looking for a visionary Director of Software Engineering to lead the Spectrum Ethernet Switch/SmartSwitch SONiC group. You will drive the development of a unified network operating system that runs across multiple ASICs and platforms, powering Ethernet switches, DPUs and future BMCs in AI‑focused datacenters.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the roadmap for networking protocols, including switching, routing, analytics and telemetry.
• Lead global teams of junior engineers and senior embedded‑software experts, providing mentorship and technical direction.
• Collaborate with design, verification, architecture, product marketing and both internal and external customers to ensure end‑to‑end project success.
• Oversee integration of software and hardware components, ensuring high performance and reliability.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Software, Computer, Electrical or Communication Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 15+ years of overall experience with at least 7 years managing R&D engineering teams.
• Strong track record of delivering complex embedded and networking software.
