Customer Engineer – Field Service (Kiryat Gat)

About the role

As a Customer Engineer (Field Service Engineer) you will be the primary liaison with Applied Materials customers, installing, maintaining and upgrading advanced semiconductor equipment. You will use digital analytics and basic diagnostic techniques to troubleshoot issues and ensure smooth operation of complex systems.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior engineers to install, maintain and upgrade customer equipment.
• Use digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply basic diagnostic techniques.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic and gas systems.
• Coordinate and communicate directly with customers to ensure exceptional service.
• Fulfill additional duties as assigned, including shift work and clean‑room compliance.

Required profile

• B.Sc. or Practical Engineer in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent trade certification.
• Field service experience or 1–2 years in a technical support role.
• Willingness to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport for travel.

Required skills

• Digital analytics and basic diagnostic techniques.
• Knowledge of electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic and gas systems.
• Familiarity with pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics and thermodynamics.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Use of hand tools, digital multimeters and other power tools.
