Tenure Track Faculty Position in Statistics

About the role

The Department of Statistics at the University of Haifa seeks candidates for a tenure‑track faculty position at any rank. The appointment is open to scholars with an outstanding research record in Statistics, Biostatistics, Operations Research, Machine Learning, Data Science or closely related fields.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and sustain an active, internationally recognized research program.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in statistics and related areas.
• Supervise and mentor graduate students.
• Participate in departmental service, outreach, and curriculum development.
• Within a few years, deliver undergraduate instruction in Hebrew.

Required profile

• PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, Operations Research, Machine Learning, Data Science or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated record of high‑quality research publications.
• For junior applicants: evidence of independent research capability and teaching potential.
• For senior applicants: well‑established research and teaching achievements, leadership in the field, and experience mentoring graduate students.
