Software Engineering Tech Lead - Identity & Security Platforms

About the role

Cisco's Enterprise Networking Security Policy Access Development team in Israel builds scalable security policy and access solutions that protect organizations worldwide. As a Software Engineering Technical Leader, you will drive the technical vision and execution of complex security policy and access solutions, leveraging deep expertise in systems programming with C, C++ and Java to build robust, scalable software.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and mentor peers, guiding architectural decisions
• Architect and develop secure, programmable and highly reliable software for enterprise network access
• Champion software programmability and integrate automation and orchestration practices into development to streamline work and improve product performance

Required profile

• BA in Computer Science or a related field
• 8+ years of software engineering experience in systems programming with complex codebases using C, C++ or Java
• 3+ years of experience providing technical leadership and mentoring engineering teams
• Experience in software programmability and building scalable software architectures
• Experience implementing automation and orchestration in the software development lifecycle

Required skills

• Systems programming in C, C++ and Java
• Preferred: understanding of network security, certificate validation and threat modeling
• Preferred: hands-on experience with cryptography, TLS internals or Post Quantum Cryptography (PQC)
• Preferred: hands-on experience with AI coding
• Preferred: understanding of modern attack methods and excellent communication skills with cross-functional partners
