Software Engineer – Backend Focus

About the role

At-Bay is looking for a backend‑focused Software Engineer to own end‑to‑end services for its unified security platform, Stance. You will design, build, and operate production systems used by thousands of small and mid‑size businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy and operate backend microservices, writing design docs and shaping architecture.
• Introduce new capabilities safely using feature flags, gradual rollouts and backward‑compatible changes.
• Write well‑tested, organized code and monitor services at scale (logs, metrics, traces, alerts).
• Participate in on‑call rotations, quickly diagnosing and fixing production issues.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, QA, architects and developers across international teams.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on backend engineering experience, preferably in Python.
• Proven ownership of production systems with event‑driven architectures (SNS/SQS, Dapr, Kafka or similar).
• Strong system design skills for microservices, RESTful APIs and data modeling.
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and cloud environments (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent communication in both Hebrew and English.
