Software Architect

About the role

NVIDIA is seeking a Software Architect to help shape the next generation of networking products, SmartNICs, and DPUs. You will work at the intersection of AI networking, virtualization, operating systems, security, and programmable acceleration, turning complex datacenter technologies into clear architectural proposals.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with system architects, software/firmware engineers, and hardware designers to define component‑level and system‑level solutions.
• Analyze requirements across networking protocols, virtualization, OS, security, management, and services.
• Research new ideas, evaluate design alternatives, and build proof‑of‑concept models, simulations, and prototypes.
• Participate in HW/SW co‑design, addressing performance, scalability, and resource‑utilization challenges.
• Produce architecture documents, design specifications, and technical presentations for internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in software development for embedded or complex systems.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++.
• Solid understanding of operating systems, multi‑threading, and computer architecture.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to work both independently and in a team.

Required skills

• C and C++ programming.
• Linux and Linux kernel development.
• Device driver development and embedded systems.
• Networking protocols such as Ethernet, InfiniBand, RDMA, RoCE, TCP/IP, and congestion control.
• Virtualization, security, and programmable acceleration concepts.
• Experience with SmartNICs, DPUs, and DOCA.
• Simulation, performance modeling, and prototype development.
