SoC Quality & Reliability Engineer – AI/ML Hardware

About the role

In this position you will shape the future of AI/ML hardware acceleration by driving cutting‑edge TPU technology for Google’s data‑center workloads. You will work on custom silicon solutions, verify complex digital designs, and ensure the quality and reliability of SoCs that power Google Cloud services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead quality and reliability processes for integrated circuits from post‑tapeout through manufacturing.
• Develop and deploy quality and reliability specifications, design guidelines, and test plans.
• Perform failure analysis, yield assessment, and qualification testing on silicon.
• Collaborate with global hardware quality, silicon design, validation, and engineering teams.
• Analyze statistical data to drive improvements in silicon reliability and advanced packaging.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 + years of experience in IC silicon quality or reliability.
• Experience leading product reliability life‑cycle from post‑tapeout through manufacturing.
• Experience with CMOS technology, device physics, and failure mechanisms.
• Preferred: Master’s degree, statistical data analysis using JMP, Python or JSL, familiarity with EFA and PFA techniques, knowledge of Design‑for‑Reliability rules, and a track record with silicon reliability on advanced process nodes and packaging.
