Senior Software Engineer - Semiconductor Products

About the role

KLA's Semiconductor Products and Customers (Semi PC) business unit designs, builds and sells inspection, metrology and analytics systems that help chip manufacturers meet high-quality standards for AI, data centers, automotive and electronic devices. The company is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join its semiconductor products development team in Israel, taking part in the design, development, testing and maintenance of software used in advanced semiconductor products.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain software components for complex semiconductor systems.
• Take part in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, code reviews, testing and release activities.
• Work with systems, hardware and applications engineers to define and implement product requirements.
• Investigate customer and field issues, perform root-cause analysis and implement robust solutions.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, design specifications and test plans.
• Contribute to software architecture discussions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support product releases and sustaining engineering activities.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Ability to lead software development projects involving multiple software engineers, including technical planning, task coordination, execution tracking and delivery.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Strong programming skills in C# and/or C++.
• Object-oriented design and software engineering best practices.
• Multi-threaded and distributed software systems.
• Familiarity with software design patterns and debugging techniques.
• Familiarity with AI tools for software development.
