Senior Software Engineer, Google Cloud Filestore

About the role

Google Cloud Filestore is building a next‑generation, fully managed NFS service for enterprise customers. As a Senior Software Engineer you will design and implement core components of this distributed filesystem, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability.

Key responsibilities

• Define, design, and implement key Filestore components from the ground up.
• Focus on performance, reliability, efficiency, and resilience of the service.
• Mentor and grow the engineering team, influencing architecture decisions.
• Collaborate with filesystem engineering, product management, program management, SRE, and UX/UI teams.
• Engage with customers to align the product with future requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of software development experience in one or more programming languages.
• 3+ years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
• 1+ year of experience in software design and architecture.
• Preferred: Master’s or PhD in Computer Science or related field, 5+ years with data structures and algorithms, 1+ year in a technical leadership role.
