Senior SoC Power Engineer

About the role

Google Cloud is looking for a Senior SoC Power Engineer to lead power‑reduction initiatives for custom silicon that powers its direct‑to‑consumer products. You will work across architecture, frontend and backend teams to develop methodologies, tools and test plans that drive efficient hardware designs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop methodology for SoC power roll‑up, reduction, projection, configuration, test plans and tools.
• Collaborate with Architecture, Frontend, Backend, power delivery and packaging teams to define power scenarios, simulations and verification flows.
• Work with design verification (DV) to define power tests, debug issues and integrate solutions into the flow.
• Track power targets throughout project execution and ensure goals are met.
• Lead power aspects of projects, prioritize tasks and allocate technical resources.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of experience in power estimation and optimization flows and tools.
• Experience with vector‑based physical design power tools such as PTPX Prime Power.
• Strong knowledge of power‑optimization techniques (multiple‑threshold voltage, clock gating, power gating, DVFS/AVS).
• Familiarity with post‑silicon measurements, telemetry and correlation to pre‑silicon data.
