Senior Silicon Engineer

About the role

The Windows Silicon System Integration (WSSI) team is seeking a Senior Silicon Engineer to lead the design of complex, security‑focused silicon subsystems used in Windows client products. You will own micro‑architecture and RTL development, collaborate across verification, firmware, and physical design, and drive innovative, AI‑assisted workflows to improve productivity and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement micro‑architecture and RTL for high‑performance silicon blocks, translating system requirements into clean hardware.
• Partner with verification, firmware, system engineering, architecture, and physical design teams to establish interfaces, resolve integration issues, and manage technical risk.
• Lead subsystem integration activities, design reviews, synthesis readiness, timing analysis, and hand‑off processes.
• Explore and apply AI‑assisted techniques for design automation, debugging, documentation, and quality improvement.
• Mentor junior engineers, raise engineering standards, and contribute to a fast‑moving, collaborative environment.

Required profile

• B.Sc. or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven track record in RTL design for complex IP, subsystems, or SoCs.
• Hands‑on experience with Verilog/SystemVerilog and rigorous design‑quality practices.
• Strong problem‑solving ability, ownership mindset, and capacity to work independently.
