Senior Android Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Android Engineer to own and evolve a fast‑growing consumer mobile product used by students worldwide. Based in Israel, you will lead end‑to‑end Android development, shaping architecture, performance, releases, and long‑term technical direction while collaborating closely with product, growth, and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain a high‑quality native Android application from architecture to production releases.
• Define and communicate the technical vision for mobile, ensuring engineering standards and best practices.
• Mentor and support existing mobile engineers, raising the overall quality of Android code and craftsmanship.
• Partner with product and growth teams to deliver features that drive acquisition, onboarding, engagement, and retention.
• Implement A/B testing, instrumentation, and data‑driven iteration to continuously improve the product.
• Manage the full release process, including versioning, Google Play deployment, app‑store optimization, crash monitoring, and performance tracking.
• Diagnose complex technical issues and proactively enhance stability and performance.
• Contribute to the future structure and capabilities of the mobile engineering function as the team scales.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of professional experience developing native Android applications.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin with a proven track record of shipping consumer‑facing apps.
• Hands‑on experience with both Jetpack Compose and traditional Android Views.
• Deep understanding of Android frameworks, architecture patterns, and state‑management approaches.
